Founder
Pierre N. Lermusieaux is a fearless advocate who uses creativity, scholarship, and grit to deliver outsized results for his clients.
He represents employees, employers, insurers, and multinational clients in workplace disputes, matters of unfair competition, and constitutional claims against government actors.
Pierre is the founder of PNL Advocacy.

Pierre has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, many administrative tribunals in the province, as well as the Federal Court of Appeal. He has successfully argued complex motions, including for Anton Piller relief. Before the Ontario Court of Appeal, he secured the dismissal of an action against his mortgage agent clients, as well as their brokerage and national franchisor, as an abuse of process, a remedy seldom granted on appeal.
In addition to his litigation work, Pierre advises institutional clients in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Past mandates include providing advice on vicarious liability for tortious acts committed by employees/directing minds in the workplace, multijurisdictional disputes involving bills of lading, and charitable organizations taking public positions on contentious societal issues unrelated to their mission.
A born negotiator, Pierre was also part of a cross-border team that successfully renegotiated the fuel surcharge provisions of a multi-year/multi-million-dollar procurement contract after the spike in the price of hydrocarbons spurred by the Ukrainian conflict.
Pierre’s legal career began at two national firms in Vancouver and Ottawa where he worked on a systemic constitutional challenge on access to French-language education in British Columbia, and prepared appeals before the Supreme Court of Canada and the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Pierre also served as law clerk to now Chief Justice Mary Gleason at the Federal Court of Appeal and Court Martial Appeal Court, where he worked on matters of national importance.
